Higher School of Economics and Trade is one of the vocational training centers in Dubrovnik, which means that students acquire their first profession that allows them to be included inthe labor market. For those students who wish to continue their studies at the university level, the school organizes additional classes to prepare them to take the final exams in the best way, thus guaranteeing the vertical passage to desired universities.
Our school offers education for the four-year programs: economy, commerce and business secretary, and a 3-year program for the assistant store (retailers). In order to enrich the variety of programs, a few years ago we introduced the general economics of the high school program. The school is also licensed by the Croatian Ministry of Education for the high school law program. Each of these programs consists of the general and professional curriculum.
Our school has a long tradition in education. He is the legal successor of the school founded in 1913. In 2018. we celebrated 105 years of existence. Today, at our school there are 350 students in 18 classes, 40 teachers, a total of 50 employees. Our students aged between 15-18 are educated to work in accounting, finance, banking, insurance, commerce and administration. During their studies, students are encouraged to think and create their own companies. They learn how to start their business, develop the business idea and work with imaginary products but deal with actual documents. We have the oratory school program for the development of communication skills. This program has been developed by IPA EU fund operations. The school participated in several Erasmus+ funded projects as first high school beneficiary in Dubrovnik region.
